BBB’s design for two high-rise towers featuring housing and retail enhances the growing skyline of New Rochelle.
Sited in the center of downtown New Rochelle and rising 27 stories high, the two-phase mixed-use development will provide 511 units with a mix of affordable and market-rate housing, 14,000 SF of ground floor commercial space, and 300 parking spaces within a four-story podium. The contemporary design utilizes a bypass window wall system with a compilation of material finishes to modulate the facades and accentuate the vertical reading of the towers, with the culmination of an illuminated crown at the top of the building. The masonry podium consists of a unique system of progressively perforated metal panels to illuminate and screen the garage facade. Residents will be able to enjoy a wide array of on-site amenities, including a gym with both indoor and outdoor fitness areas, a coworking space with an outdoor hammock grove, and an outdoor dog run. On the 25th floor, an outdoor pool, lounge, and games room provide 180-degree views from the Long Island Sound in the northeast to New York City in the southwest. The project will be compliant with the NYSERDA New Construction/Energy Star program.
